Doing the thing.
We have let bad people take control of this planet. Some own all the resources. There are some that reside in our governments because we don't want to take step up and do the work required. There are some that control the (social)media that prey on our minds. There are some that have used the above to hoard wealth, making everyone else's lives that little bit harder. Most of these groups overlap and intermingle in dull venn diagrams of power, but that's not important right now.
Awareness and education are important. Without these, the rest of us will let the control slip further. The introduction of AI will only accelerate the power shift and the distance between the average human and the bad people will grow exponentially larger.
I plan to stop complaining quietly and start shouting loudly. I believe need the following:
- Wealth inequality - fair wealth taxation
- Environmental harm - fair taxation of negative externalities
- (Social)media harms - criminalization of abuse of (social)media powers
- Democratic decline - division of political power through unbreakable checks and balances
